HORSE/ART Camp Info.
***Hours are 9am to 3pm***
Please note that we have added an hour to the Horse/Art Camp this summer!!
are very excited to offer 2 weeks of Horse/ Art Camp again!! We are partnering
with our neighbor Out of the Box Art Studio. Campers will start the day
at the barn for horsemanship activities, a riding lesson each day and
lunch from 9am to 12:30 pm and then they will head over to Out of the Box
Art studio from 12:30 to 3 pm for Art! Out of the Box Art Studio has
chickens, bunnies, a pig and a goat so this is ideal for the art/animal
lover! Each day they will do an art project focused on a specific animal
as well as learn about each animal and get to feed them!
**If you are attending the Horse/ Art Camp you will also need to fill out the two forms above as well as the one listed below:
***Sign Up by May 30th for only $300/week**
& each additional week is only $275
(For regular horse camp, not horse/art)
**Early sign up for Horse/Art Camp is $325**
***Discount for signing up for multiple weeks***
After May 30th, cost is $350 per week or $325 per week if you sign-up with a friend/sibling. Most weeks will have 6-8 kids total. Kids ages 5 and up are welcome! Most camps are Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-2:00pm. Extended care is available on a limited basis for an additional fee of $10/hr for one child or $15/hr for two kids. Fill out the camp enrollment form and include $100 deposit to hold your child’s spot. Signing up for a second week by May 30th for the price of $275 is only applicable to horse camp, not horse/art camp.
Most of the riding lessons are in the ring but we do go out for a trail ride through the back of the property on Fridays. All riding lessons are taught by USHJA Certified Trainer Courtney Broka and all beginner riders will have a camp counselor assisting them with each horse.
Kids bring a lunch and plenty to drink, we have a refrigerator to keep things cold or bring a cooler, long pants to ride in and they may bring shorts to change into.We have extra helmets or bring a bicycle helmet to insure the best fit, riding boots or some type of boot with a smooth bottom and a heel.
Each kid gets his/her own brush set to keep as well as a T-shirt, and anything else they make throughout the week.
The kids ride before lunch so it’s not too hot, then they eat lunch, then horsemanship and/ or arts/ crafts activities. (Horsemanship examples include—Bathing horses, braiding, clipping, wrapping legs, learning about general care, etc. Arts/ Crafts include—making horse treats, painting horse shoes, making sugar cookies with horse related cookie cutters, horse magnets, etc.) Most of the arts/crafts are inside so the kids can cool off if it’s really hot outside.
The farm is located about a mile from Birmingham Crossroads, about seven miles from the Crabapple Kroger or Windward Pkwy.
The farm is really beautiful: 26 acres, large riding ring with jumps, fields to ride in, access to trails, large 20-stall barn with an air-conditioned office, bathroom, tack rooms, feed room and wash racks.
If you would like more info. or would like to sign-up. Feel free to call with any questions or stop by the farm to watch a lesson or check out the facility.
