HORSE/ART Camp Info.
This year we
are very excited to offer 2 weeks of Horse/ Art Camp!! We are partnering
with our neighbor Out of the Box Art Studio. Campers will start the day
at the barn for horsemanship activities, a riding lesson each day and
lunch from 9am to noon and then they will head over to Out of the Box
Art studio from noon to 2pm for Art! Out of the Box Art Studio has
chickens, bunnies, a pig and a goat so this is ideal for the art/animal
lover! Each day they will do an art project focused on a specific animal
as well as learn about each animal and get to feed them!
**If you are attending the Horse/ Art Camp you will also need to fill out the two forms above as well as the one listed below:
***Sign Up by April 15th for only $300/week**
***Sign Up for a second week of camp for only $275***
After April 15th, cost is $350 per week or $325 per week if you sign-up with a friend. Most weeks will have 6-8 kids total. Kids ages 5 and up are welcome! Most camps are Mon.-Fri. 9:00am-2:00pm. Extended care is available for an additional fee of $10/hr for one child or $15/hr for two kids. Fill out the camp enrollment form and include $100 deposit to hold your child’s spot. Signing up for a second week for the price of $275 is only applicable to horse camp, not horse/art camp.
Kids bring a lunch and plenty to drink, we have a refrigerator to keep things cold or bring a cooler, long pants to ride in and they may bring shorts to change into. We have extra helmets or bring a bicycle helmet to insure the best fit, riding boots or some type of boot with a smooth bottom and a heel.
Each kid gets his/her own brush set to keep as well as a T-shirt, and anything else they make throughout the week.
The kids ride before lunch so it’s not too hot, then they eat lunch, then horsemanship and/ or arts/ crafts activities. (Horsemanship examples include—Bathing horses, braiding, clipping, wrapping legs, learning about general care, etc. Arts/ Crafts include—making horse treats, painting horse shoes, making sugar cookies with horse related cookie cutters, horse magnets, etc.) Most of the arts/crafts are inside so the kids can cool off if it’s really hot outside.
Camp riding lessons are taught by head trainer Courtney Ray Broka. Courtney is a United States Hunter Jumper Assoc. certified trainer!
The farm is located about a mile from Birmingham Crossroads, about seven miles from the Crabapple Kroger or Windward Pkwy.
The farm is really beautiful: 26 acres, large riding ring with jumps, fields to ride in, access to trails, large 20-stall barn with an air-conditioned office, bathroom, tack rooms, feed room and wash racks.
Please let me know if you would like more info. or would like to sign-up. Feel free to call with any questions or stop by the farm to meet me and check out the facility.
